We are actively seeking a Principal Analytical Chemist who has extensive expertise in driving method development in polymer chemistry. Practical experience working with genetic materials would be an advantage. This lab-based role will focus initially on establishing methods for quantifying polymers and genetic materials loaded in polymeric particles, requiring expertise in techniques including HPLC, spectroscopy and fluorometry. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and work closely and effectively with members of the Chemistry and Formulation Teams. The candidate should be a critical thinker with a deep understanding of current advances in relevant analytical techniques and have a demonstrable working knowledge of regulatory requirements for innovative drug delivery technology. ViaNautis is a rapidly growing biotech company, and it is anticipated that the successful candidate will have the opportunity to establish and lead an analytical team in due course.

Essential Knowledge/Experience:

  • A background in polymer Chemistry combined with extensive expertise in Chromatography and spectroscopy or other analytical methodologies utilized to quantify genetic material loaded inside polymeric particles.
  • Proficiency in HPLC analytical method development, including reversed phase, ion exchange, affinity, and size exclusion chromatography
  • Excellent demonstrable problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting analytical data to non-expert audiences
  • Working effectively in a fast-paced, goal-orientated, and cross functional environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Agilent HPLC systems and OpenLab Chromatography software is an advantage
  • Experience working with novel technologies in a Biotech environment.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry or related scientific discipline with significant experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop HPLC and/or spectroscopy methods for quantifying payloads (genetic materials) inside polymeric particles
  • Collaborate with formulation scientists and polymer chemists and provide QC checks for drug delivery formulations
  • Writing scientific protocols and SOPs and high-quality lab notebook documentation, and ability to write thorough scientific reports
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of HPLC instrument
  • Proactively plan and execute analytic activities across multiple projects within set timelines Planning your own work and prioritizing as necessary with the minimum level of supervision
  • Able to step in and learn new techniques to support projects
  • To keep project leads informed of work progress in a timely fashion.
  • To proactively support other laboratory scientists.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scientist with expertise in nanomedicine research. We are particularly interested in candidates with a deep understanding on physicochemical properties related to nanoparticle formulation design as drug delivery systems. The successful candidate will have experience in experimental design and execution, as well as a track record of scientific excellence.Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory activities to support the development and validation of formulations, ensuring high quality and reproducibility of results.
  • Design and execute experiments and assays using state-of-the-art techniques and methodologies to benchmark the PolyNaut technology.
  • Analyse and interpret data, including statistical analysis and data visualisation, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including biology, bioinformatics and chemistry teams.
  • Write clear, accurate, and engaging scientific content for the development of scientific manuscripts, regulatory documents, and technical reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest scientific advancements and industry trends on nanomedicine and polymer chemistry.
  • Contribute to the identification of new product lines for the company.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standards in research involving human samples.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Nanotechnology or Nanomedicine or Biochemistry or Bioengineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of laboratory techniques and methodologies related to nanoparticle characterisation, such as nanoparticle tracking analysis, dynamic and electrophoretic light scattering, transmission electronic microscopy, high-performance liquid chromatography, is highly valued.
  • Experience with nanoparticle formulation techniques such as microfluidics.
  • Fundamental understanding of physicochemical properties related to nanoparticle formulation design and processes.
  • Experience in the encapsulation of genetic materials will be desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex scientific data, including statistical analysis and data visualisation.
  • Proficiency in scientific software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, present research findings, and contribute to scientific publications and grant applications.
